2025 SESSIONS
Opening Remarks
Director of AIAC
Session 1
Contracts Under Stress: Tariffs, Sanctions, and Force Majeure
This session will explore how contractual disruptions are managed in diverse legal systems, the evolving role of arbitral tribunals in adjudicating such claims, and the intersection with trade law and international investment frameworks.
Session 2
Dispute Resolution in the Natural Resources Sector
This session will review the full spectrum of disputes that typically arise in natural resources projects — from shareholder and joint venture conflicts to production-sharing agreements, licensing, stabilization clauses, and environmental liability. Leading practitioners will share insights into how arbitral tribunals approach these disputes, the role of investment treaty arbitration, and how shifting global priorities (climate change, ESG, energy transition) are reshaping the dispute landscape.
AGENDA
AYAP INITIATIVE
The AYAP Summit is a unique platform designed to bring together arbitration practitioners under the age of 45 from across Asia and beyond. It offers an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange perspectives on key developments in arbitration, and strengthen professional networks within the international arbitration community.
Following the success of the inaugural Summit in Hong Kong (2023) and the Second Edition in Phnom Penh (2024), this year’s Summit in Kuala Lumpur promises to continue the tradition of fostering collaboration among emerging leaders in arbitration, while addressing the most relevant and forward-looking issues shaping the field today.
We look forward to welcoming you to Kuala Lumpur for this exciting occasion!
